How to Revive a Frozen Sourdough Loaf
How to Revive a Frozen Sourdough Loaf
A whole sourdough loaf freezes beautifully.
Remove it from the freezer and quickly run it under cold water for 5 to 10 seconds, just enough to lightly wet the crust. Don’t soak it.
Place it in a preheated 180°C oven for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the loaf. The water creates steam, helping the crust become crisp while the inside warms through.
Let the loaf rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing. The result is remarkably close to freshly baked bread.
Tip: Freeze your bread as fresh as possible. The freezer preserves freshness. It doesn’t improve stale bread.
